Long Ago and far away, there was something
called Vaudeville...

It was a place where performing artists of varying talents
got to strut their stuff before a vast audience. In a way it
was a training ground, as well as an outlet for
entertainment.

Some people spent their entire lives within it, addicted to
the grind and the greasepaint. Others moved on, bringing
their talent and experience to other venues, such as radio,
television, movies, and the legitimate stage. Early radio
and television especially owes a great debt to these
seasoned Vaudevillians.

Some people say that Vaudeville is dead, but it was really
only a matter of time before it resurfaced and found its
way to the immense Internet stage to once again do what
it does best...display and develop talent before an
immense audience.

Of course fashions have changed, so sometimes it's
called things other than Vaudeville. But as Shakespeare
said, "A rose by any other name..."

Whenever a group of varying artists gather together to
show their talents to an audience...

...There is Vaudeville.
